Howdy Trojan Friends & Family,
Ronnie's web news attached along with a nice feature from TofR, RoseBowletin, a great way to catch up on college football news and plan your TV viewing for today.

Well we had a heck of a week last week, we were so happy to have the Davidson Family in town and had a lot of fun doing all things Trojan with them. While we greatly miss Ryan, we are so happy & grateful when they come around. Fight On! Kirby, Amy & Mallory, you have a standing invitation to come back any time you'd like, mi casa, su casa.

No video blog yet, the website still crashed, computer guy issues with busted URLs etc. however I have been assured that this "fix" will be in this week. In the interim we have been keeping abreast of all things USC Trojan Football by following the usual websites but more lately
have been sticking to www.WeAreSC.com <http://www.wearesc.com/> and Ben Malcolmson's blog on usctrojans.com http://www.usctrojans.com/blog/

We shot the First quarter and half of the San Jose State USC game and will have a video blog post shortly. Mostly pregame and 1st quarter. Left early to shot Coaches video for Mikey's team the Pasadena Trojans. Tough game for the Tiny Trojans, virtually no practice due to brush fire driven air quality issues last week and they played North Long Beach, a feeder program for Long Beach Poly, Looking for a big rebound this week against Lakewood, 7 p.m. today, yes I will be there, so please don't call me or text me with the SC game score, the DVR will be ready for us when we get in!

In the meantime, its been a very busy two weeks for the YouTube site, we went over 80,000 views, shot and posted some incredible aerial firefighting footage from our neighborhood (we are OK), and made two very special videos for the Davidson's that were same day blogged and added to the collection. As always we are grateful to our viewers and hope you enjoy the stuff.

We had to break the email into 2 groups due to AT&T's draconian anti spam policy, we are only allowed to send out and email with 100 addresses. So if we get you twice, it's because we love you and we made a mistake, LOL.

Fight On! Beat the Buckeyes!!
Regards
John

TheViewFromMySeat.com blog

Hello Trojan Fans!

A picture says a thousand words, a movie says even more

Check out the Domination of the Duckies by the Trojans, who “Return to Glory” once again.

AltadenaTrojan.com Video Blog 2008 Oregon at USC: Duck Soup - YouTube

I think this has the makings of a great season as we watch the Team start their climb back up the ladder.I Really enjoyed watching the very physical line play on both defense and offense. As such, you will see lots of that in the vid blog this week. Blocking, tackling and hard running were the order of the day on October 4, 2008. Truly a feast for any true football fan. I am really impressed with the performance and leadership of Stafon Johnson. #13 really is putting himself on the map as one of the premier backs on the West Coast, if not the country.

It is this multi-media blogger’s opinion that some continuity and rhythm in the running game might really be a good thing overall and in the play action passing game too.

Editor’s Note: We had some fun this week. We attempted to cut, edit and render the highlights and post them “same day”. Well, we were almost successful, the vid blog was done on Sunday a.m. and uploaded Sunday afternoon. Select few “special viewers” got a preview on Sunday night. This has been a fun adventure of late, in 8 years of doing this; we never really got to shoot night games because of the bad light in the Coliseum. Well, The last two weeks we have shot video almost exclusively with the G9 and last week we tried high res 1024 video for the first time, it’s a memory hog, but I think its worth it in the long run.

The other thing we have done is to have a parallel uploading on YouTube, so people that have difficulty with QuickTime can watch as well. Last home game’s highlight video (Ohio State) was also featured on YouTube and got over 1,000 views in a week and a half. 2008 Oregon at USC: Duck Soup - YouTube make sure to “watch in high quality”, clickable button on bottom right of standard YouTube Viewer. We rendered the high res video at a high frame rate, should look pretty good, even for YouTube.

Thanks to all for reading this email blog newsletter and for watching our stuff, Thanks to many emails & calls of support after OSU loss, most were even well meaning, and came from Nevada, SoCal, NorCal, and Montana. Simply put, football was not important that week. I was in the Houston Area helping Hurricane Ike victims. I did not see the game as we were dealing with people’s housing and emergencies at a 50% damaged property. Do you realize that 300 people are still missing from Hurricane Ike?

Early PostScript: It is my understanding that the RB from Oregon State was from the Houston, TX area. Well I will tell you if he represents only a small, small portion of the grit, bravery and determination of the people I met in Houston, TX, the Trojans are very lucky they only lost by 6.
